Ms. Nettie is finally ready to “fly” home to Crossville, TN. She is a T33 Air Force Jet, belonging to the Cumberland County High School Jets. When Ms. Nettie first arrived to North Central Institute, an Aviation Maintenance Technology school located in Clarksville, TN, she needed major repairs in the following areas:

·         Corrosion control, structural & fiberglass repairs, removal of landing gears and avionics

·         Over 1,000 new nutplates were needed

It is has been a demanding and arduous job for students and staff at North Central Institute; however the task has been accomplished.  Over a period of 18 months, over 30 students at North Central Institute have had an active role in the restoration of Ms. Nettie.  It was an excellent opportunity for them to apply technical skills and knowledge acquired throughout the Aviation Maintenance Technology Program into a real-life situation. The return trip to Crossville has been scheduled for 12pm on May 4, 2009.
